The boys started their first day of school on Monday, August 13, 2012. They are attending Terrytown Academy. The very same school I attended while I was growing up....Kindergarten thru 8th grade.

8 is Great...Jonah's Baptism

Jonah turned 8 years old on July 21, 2012. That means he has reached the age of accountability...he is able to tell right from wrong. He has chosen to be baptized and make a two-way promise with his Heavenly Father.

Jonah Kyle Bonvillain was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Saturday, August 4, 2012 by his father Lawrence Bonvillain III. We are so proud of the decision Jonah made to be baptized. We are looking forward to watching his knowledge of the gospel and his love of the Savior grow.
Our Bunch!

He was baptized in the Luling Branch building in Luling, Louisiana by his Dad.

We were blessed to be able to share this special day with members of our branch (ward family) and extended family members.

Lawrence and I are so blessed that Heavenly Father chose us to be Jonah's parents. We are also so thankful that he chose us to raise 4 of his choice spirits. How can you not love these boys......

When I woke up on Saturday morning I was afraid we might have to post-pone Jonah's baptism due to the weather. It was raining and our street was flooded. But thankfully, the rains stopped, the sun came out, and it was a beautiful day. As soon as we arrived back at home, the skies opened up again and it started raining...sounds like a sign from Heavenly Father that he was making the right choice!

Name Change?!?

I guess a name change is in order for this blog. We are no longer The Bonvillain Bunch in Texas...nope, we have moved back to the bayou, sort of. We are not actually on the bayou but close enough to visit family that live there. We moved back to Louisiana on June 15th.

We made the decision to not renew our lease on May 15th. During the time we were looking for another place to rent, my aunt offered for us to live in my grandmother's house "if" we wanted to move back to Louisiana. We spent many hours in discussion, prayer, and fasting to make the best possible decision for our family. It was not any easy decision to leave the comforts we had grown a custom to the past 3 years...a wonderful ward/stake (our church family), equally wonderful friends (always willing to offer help whenever it was needed), schools (the kids loved their schools, even though we were going to be changing schools this year they were starting to look forward to the new experience), and last but not certainly not least the life we had built there (our family relationship had grown closer over the past few years, we only had each other to rely on and it helped bring us all closer together).

We have been back in Louisiana for just over a month and have kept very busy. We had to pack up my grandmother's things before we could start unpacking ours. But, we are slowly getting settled. The summer is quickly coming to an end, the boys start school in 2 weeks...so there is still so much to do. We enrolled them in the elementary school I went to from Kindergarten to 8th grade. That helps to put my mind at ease as I know they are in good hands.

Peyton is enjoying being able to go outside, ride his bike, play basketball with some boys down the street, toss the football around, and not have to worry about traffic...since we live on a dead end street. He has been an amazing help the past few months, everything from helping to load up the moving truck to keeping the littles entertained while Mom packed and packed and packed some more and then unpacked.

Jonah just had a birthday...the big 8 years old!!! He wanted a ninja cake again this year, so of course I complied! He will be baptized this Saturday. We are so proud of the decision he has made to be baptized. He has such a sweet spirit.

Addison asks to go visit her friends everyday. Breaks my heart because she doesn't understand that her friends are 500 miles away. She still loves to help mommy all the time! She loves playing the Wii and watching Disney and Nick Jr shows. She got to play in the rain one of our first days back and then played in the mud....she LOVED it!!

LJ is growing by leaps and bounds. I cannot believe he will be 11 months old in just 7 days....where has he past year gone??? My baby is growing up much too fast. He is cruising on the furniture now and had finally decided to crawl on his knees (he has been "army" crawling on his belly). He is such a happy baby and loves being with his brothers and sister.

Lawrence is happy about being in Saints country again! He and Peyton are at the training camp practice this morning. He is looking forward to the beginning of football season.

I am adjusting. Never thought I would need to adjust to being back at "home". Ha!  Lawrence and I have already given talks at church. Although, I must admit it is much easier to give a talk to a congregation of 40 people as opposed to 100+.

As much as we miss our ward (church family) in Texas (they were our family away from home and always ready to lend a helping hand!), the amazing friends we met, and the life we built the past 3 years...we are definitely enjoying some of the perks of living back in Louisiana...
                                                            Like this yummy sno-ball!!!
Spending time with family...we can't wait for Lindsey to "officially" join our family in January. Although, she is already a favorite cousin!

Mother's Day 2012

This was the first Mother's Day that I haven't gotten breakfast in bed. The reason being that we have 8am church on Sunday mornings. So, my sweet husband cooked breakfast for me on Saturday night. He made pancakes, sausage patties, and biscuits with sausage gravy. It was so good, and we all got to sleep in on Sunday morning!

After church, I tried to get a picture of me with the four kids...Lawrence does not have much patience when taking pictures so these are the best we have and I am so thankful for them. Thank you Lawrence!!

My wonderful husband treated me to chicken stew and chocolate brownies today. I am so lucky to have him and these four wonderful spirits that call me Mom.

I am blessed to have wonderful women in my life who are examples of exactly what the word mother entails. Thank you all for the example you set for me on a daily basis. I would not be the woman or mother I am without you all in my life. I hope you all had a very Happy Mother's Day! I love you all!

8 months old...already!!!

I can't believe my baby boy is already 8 months old!! He is growing up so fast. Love you LJ.

Spelling Bee Finalist

Jonah jumped into the car on Friday with a HUGE smile on his face! I asked my usual "How was your day?". He replied, "It was good, oh and I'm a spelling bee finalist"  another HUGE SMILE!!!!

"What??? Are you serious? I am so very proud of you Jonah"....of course as I started tearing up.

I have a sitter set up from Friday so I can see him compete in the 2nd grade level spelling bee.

We are so very proud of Jonah...he absolutely loves school and learning new things!!!

LJ's Birth Story

We moved into our new rental home on September 1st. I was trying to get everything unpacked and into place quickly since our new little guy was due 6 weeks later on October 15th.

But he had other plans....The following Wednesday night (the 7th) I started feeling really bad, went to bed early. I woke up at 11:00pm with horrible pains in my back. I walked around upstairs for about 1/2 an hour before I decided to wake Lawrence up. (He had taken NyQuil around 10:30pm and I knew he wasn't feeling well.) I told him about the discomfort I was having and we decided I should call my doctor. Dr. Romberg told me to head into the ER to get checked, just to be on the safe side.

I was miserable by the time we arrived at the ER (11:45pm), the pain in my back was constant at this point! Once I FINALLY got to Labor & Delivery (which was on the other side of the hospital), the nurse checked me and said "You are dilated to 5...you are having a baby tonight!" Lawrence & I looked at each other...this was not part of our plan. We hadn't gotten settled in the house yet, we still had boxes EVERYWHERE!!! Not to mention the fact that I was only 34 weeks!!! At this point hospital staff kept coming in talking to us about what might happen during/after delivery since I was only 34 weeks. I have no idea what they said...the only thing I remember is they talked about postpartum depression ALOT!! (They take postpartum depression very seriously here in Texas since Andrea Yates drowned her 5 children in this state in 2001.)  Finally the anesthesiologist arrived and administered the epidural...then I was able to relax and take in everything that had been going on.

We were able to chat with one of the nurses and found out that she was from the Lafayette, Louisiana.

This was a quick delivery just like the last 2...the nurse came in and said it was time to push. I pushed a total of 3 times. As Dr. Romberg made his way over to me, he commented that the baby was crowning...everything happened so fast at that point...next thing I knew my little guy was in my arms (for a few seconds before they whisked him away to the baby station to check him out). I arrived at the hospital at 11:45pm and Lawrence Joseph Bonvillain IV was born at 3:16am. (The day before his big brother Peyton's birthday.) He spent the next week in NICU.
