It SNOWED!!!

It has FINALLY snowed in Round Rock! Areas to our North & South have gotten some snow this year, but it always skipped us...Peyton thought for sure we had a no-snow shield around Round Rock! LOL!

Today is snowed...Lawrence saw the 1st snowflake hit the windshield as soon as the boys got out of the car at school.

These flakes were BIG...one hit Lawrence in the eye & knocked his contact out of place!!! He saw a lady building a snowman on her car in the Wal-Mart parking lot! Addison & I played in the snow a bit this morning...I gave her a snowball to hold (with mittens on) and she proceeded to eat it...her poor lips were purple! She screamed when I tried to take it away...she then threw herself on the ground. I couldn't help but laugh (& I got it on video!!!).

These are some of the pictures I took this morning before he camera battery decided to die on me!

Happy Mardi Gras!

Today is Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday)! But, since we are in Texas, the kids have school and there are no parades.

We did not go to any parades last year because Addison was only a wee infant (2 months old) and it was a little too cold for her to be out on the street. So this is my 2nd year missing Mardi Gras...I guess it is bothering me this year because I am too far away to hop in the car & go to a parade if I wanted to.

I tried to talk Lawrence into going to NOLA over the weekend (the kids were off yesterday...Monday). But, he was getting sick and the kids had a primary activity on Saturday.

I will survive...I really haven't had the Mardi Gras spirit the past couple of years that we were in Houma. I will go look in Addison's closet & see if she has anything festive to wear today.

HAPPY MARDI GRAS Y'ALL!!!!! BE SAFE!

SAINTS WIN THE SUPERBOWL!!!!!!!!!!!

On Sunday, February 7th, 2010....the New Orleans Saints played & won their 1st Superbowl! Superbowl 44 was played in Miami, Florida by the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts. The Saints defeated the Colts 31-17....no one (in the media) said they could do it....but THEY DID.....THEY WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our friends The Ortiz Family once again graciously opened their home to us.  We ate & watched the game. We had some delicious food!!! Fajitas, Ribs, Hot Wings, Who Dat & Saints cookies, and a black & gold kingcake!!!

Then it was time to watch the game......

Lawrence was quite serious!!!

Peyton's turn with the foghorn...TOUCHDOWN!

What's all the screaming for?!?

Lawrence & I...SAINTS WIN the SUPERBOWL!!!

My sweet hubby has waited his whole life for this moment! He had tears in his eyes & couldn't even talk to his family because he was so choked  up.

We finally found it.....Lawrence's fortune.
This was in a fortune cookie at a Chinese restaurant in Round Rock, TX that we went to for lunch one day in August (after the kids started school). Lawrence BELIEVED in this fortune & it came TRUE!!!

Saturday....is a special day!

I spent the whole day with Peyton, Jonah, and Addison.  (We did not leave Dad out, he had an Aflac meeting down in Corpus Christi.)  I started the day as usual...dishes, cleaning the kitchen, and laundry (you know...the chores that seem to NEVER end!)  It was such a pretty day out (it had been raining for 3 days this week) so I thought I would take the kids to the park.  I have been trying to get some new pictures of Addison now that she is one, but it has been so cold here. We picked up lunch at McDonald's and headed to Old Settler's park. We enjoyed a nice little picnic (even though it was still pretty chilly)...then we enjoyed the playground (well the boys did)!

I decided to take Addison out of the stroller and let her walk around so I could get some candid shots of her...3 pictures in and my camera displays a message that my memory card is full....WHAT?!? I guess it is possible, I have been using the same memory card since Addison was born....it held a whole year worth of pictures...not bad (and I take a lot of pictures)! At this point, Addison is trying to eat the wood chips that are scattered on the ground.  When I took those away, she tried to eat a leaf.

We had a few errands to run (we ran out of milk this morning and Addison is not happy if she doesn't get her milk!)  I told the boys if they behaved while we were at the grocery store, we would go to another park. (We saw a lady in a Who Dat shirt while walking into Wal-Mart, the lady with her was dressed in black & gold also....NICE!!!!) We went in, got milk and of course, a new memory card then headed home.

The boys had been pretty good in Wal-Mart so we headed to another playground at the park. I started snapping pics of Addison and she started eating the leaves!

Then I remembered we needed diapers...YIKES!!!! (not a good thing to forget!) So we headed to Target for diapers and Dollar Tree for some SuperBowl preparations!!!!! (GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!) I bought some black mugs, which I wrote WHO DAT is gold glitter!  The only thing left to do is the icing on the cake...literally...I need to put the icing on the king cake, then sprinkle the black and gold sugar....GEAUX SAINTS!!!!!!  I was suppose to be cleaning house since the kids are in bed and I am waiting for Lawrence to get home from Corpus Christi...hmmmm, there's always tomorrow!

The best part of the day is when the boys told me this was a FUN DAY!  We get so caught up in the chores and our responsibilities that it is easy to forget what matters most. I want my kids to remember "how Mom & Dad use to take us to the park", not "remember how Mom use to clean the house and do laundry all day on Saturday".  So...today...Saturday, was a special day and I hope to have many more special days with my children!!!!!!
